Bob was born in Gonzalez, Texas in December of 1943 to Mittank and Charlotte Vackar. His father who worked for a lumberyard in Gonzalez was later asked to transfer to the Rio Grande Valley. His father was to manage the John F. Grant lumberyard in Edinburg, which he later owned. Bob had only one sister, Susan, who passed away he told Texas Border Business. An externship or job shadowing experience allows a student to spend a set period of time observing a professional on the job. Such experiences are unpaid and are generally not for academic credit. In participating in our externship and job shadowig program, you may host one or more UTPA student(s) for two to five days and provide a detailed externship description. During this experience, you will provide student insigt regarding your profession and give them the opportunity to experience a typical workday in your company/profession.
