The McAllen Chamber and the McAllen Citizens League  host Mayoral Candidates Forum The McAllen Chamber of Commerce and the McAllen Citizens League will host a Mayoral Candidates Forum on Thursday, April 8 from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.  This year with Mayor Jim Darling not seeking reelection, McAllen has five candidates seeking to become mayor of McAllen.  “I encourage anyone who would like to get to know the candidates and listen to their platform or agenda for the city of McAllen to please join us as we give them each the opportunity to speak to our members,” said McAllen Chamber Vice President of Government Affairs Gerry Garcia. “They will each answer moderator questions then have the opportunity to answer questions submitted directly from our attendees.” Candidates seeking the position of Mayor of McAllen are, from left, Othal Brand Junior,  Michael Fallek, Dr. Shahid Rashid, Javier Villalobos, and Veronica Whitacre.…
